Men's Club

Men's Club

Community, Camaraderie, and Accomplishment

Each year, on the first Sunday morning after Yom Kippur, the MRT Men's Club builds the Sukkah (and takes it down two weeks later). As long as there is coffee and donuts, there is always great energy and joy in accomplishing this Mitzvah for MRT.

Welcoming Community

Welcoming Community

Spend Time Together

As a close-knit community, MRT Congregants and guests share enjoyable times together even outside the synagogue walls, such as a Shabbat service on the beach!

Worship

Worship

Traditional and Innovative

MRT Congregants and guests worship in a variety of ways and locations. In the sanctuary, on the beach, outside in our Memorial Garden, among others.

Our School

Our School

Even the Youngest Help!

Children from our K-3 classes collected close to 500 books for the Bridge of Books Foundation! Lessons in generosity such as this, along with many other enriching projects, combine to provide our students with a rich learning climate that marks the beginning of their Jewish identity.

Sisterhood

Sisterhood

Women who have found Community at MRT

A Sisterhood Bookclub outing at a boat club - what a refreshing idea! These women along with other Sisterhood members participate in a variety of social, service, and fund-raising activities, deepening their connections to one another and to Judaism.

Our Youth

Our Youth

Is Where It All Begins

MRT Youth were strong participants and contributors to Family Promise's annual Cardboard City event.

Welcome to Our Synagogue!

We are an open and inviting congregation for anyone seeking to connect to Jewish community, tradition, study and worship. Our members come from all parts of Monmouth County. Click here to view this wonderful video to see what we are all about. We are affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism and combine contemporary values with classical teachings of Torah. We are eager to connect with you so please do not hesitate to contact us at 732-747-9365 if you cannot immediately find what you need on this website. Click here for our membership page.

Worship With Us!

Every Friday night is special at Monmouth Reform Temple. Our services, led by Rabbi Marc Kline and Cantor Gabrielle Clissold, are spiritually uplifting and filled with joyful music. And for worshiping at home, we have prepared a wonderful Holiday Handbook! And now, you can enjoy Live Streaming of our services!

Socialize with Us!

Our Men's Club and Sisterhood provide many opportunities to meet with other congregants. Sisterhood-sponsored events provide something for everyone. There are monthly book clubs and speakers, Supper in the Sukkah, the Purim Party, as well as the wonderful Apple Cake & Honey and Sh'lach Manot fundraisers. The Men's Club meets monthly followed by a friendly game of poker. They excel in the kitchen serving up a great "Tail-gate Party" at the Monday night Minyan and Football or serving a gourmet Home-cooked Breakfast on Mother's Day.

Learn With Us!

The MRT Religious School begins with Kindergarten. Grades K-3 meet on Sundays from 9:30am-12pm. Grades 4-7 meet on Sundays and Wednesdays from 4pm-6pm. We are proud of our High School program! Mitzvah Academy for 8th and 9th graders with our Cantor, meets Sunday mornings from 9:30am - 12noon. Confirmation meets with the Rabbi on Sunday mornings from 10:30am - 12noon.

Our enriching  Adult Jewish Learning program provides various forums for learning. The annual Shabbat Kallah/Scholar-in-Residence weekend always features a timely topic by a celebrated lecturer. More informal yet very popular Tuesday morning Study Group with the Rabbi is currently in session.

Special Note

There are members of our Congregation who are very sensitive to scents. MRT strives to provide a “Scent Free” environment in our building.  The MRT community asks that you avoid wearing scents of any kind when coming to our facility and we ask you to tell your guests who visit with us. Thank you for being our partner in creating a "Scent-Free" environment.

Rachel Placitella, Senior Vice President

PlacitellaFor being one of the top 100 trial lawyers in America, Rachel Placitella is really quite modest and shy. Rachel loves being married to Chris. She loves being mom and now friend to/with her children Justin, Jared, and Jennarose. The successes that she and Chris each had in the practice of law allowed them to change course several years back, so that they could practice together. It truly has become a family affair as one son practices with them in their Philadelphia office and another son is an Assistant Prosecutor in Passaic County. The pup, Sandy, is a fixture in their Red Bank office. Their daughter chose to forge a different path and works in Washington, DC. I asked Rachel what she did for fun, and she stared at me. I do remember being a trial lawyer. A good lawyer gets so caught up in taking good care of clients that fun is an often rarely existent word in the daily vocabulary. Running and tennis are her pass the time passions. Rachel is honored to get back into service at MRT and looks forward to our growth; to our future. As I tried to ask her the next questions, she changed the subject so we could start planning the rummage sale.
