In our Gan Mazon/Garden of Plenty
Please drop off tied bundles of newspapers the size of the NY Times, Wall Street Journal or Asbury Park Press in the garden shed - located facing the religious school entrance. Filter out "throw away advertisements."
Please ask your local supermarket for a few extra plastic bags when doing your weekly grocery shopping. For sanitary reasons, Rutgers University now strongly recommends that all community gardens deliver their produce to pantries in clean/unused plastic or paper bags. (No newspaper plastic sleeves.)
Last season, 1,300 lbs. of organic produce were delivered to several local food pantries. With a few additional volunteer hours, we could set a record----contact me to become involved.
Social Action projects
Under the leadership of Dean Ross, MRT has been working with St. Anthony's Church in Red Bank to provide and install bicycle lights, without charge, to those who need them, most recently on the evening of March 27.  The program enhances the safety of many who use bicycles for transportation around the Red Bank Area.  Over 200 sets of bicycle lights have been donated and installed over the past two years.  As part of the program, we also give away bicycle helmets.  The next evening installation for lights will be on April 17.
A box will be placed in the cloak room at MRT to place donated helmets.

Family Promise provides homeless children and their families with food, shelter and comprehensive services by partnering with our community.

MRT is a "support congregation". We need volunteers willing to spend a few hours a year or a few hours a month to help
homeless children and their families.

Please attend this introduction to learn how you can help.
