An Invitation to Learn More About Our Community!

Monmouth Reform Temple is a diverse, open and affirming congregation that embodies the ideals and practices of a Judaism that makes religion relevant in our modern lives. Here, God, tradition, and the soul synergize. Rabbi Renee Edelman and Cantor Gabrielle Clissold lead the congregation in welcoming and celebrating Shabbat and all holidays, help teach and learn with adults and children, and engage people to help welcome each other.

Our congregation is nationally known for its commitment to social action, justice, and acts of righteousness. We lead the way in helping others at food banks, clothing drives, Save the Shore, Interfaith Neighbors, Family Promise, and other charitable and progressive causes. Our Mitzvah Day engages our membership in projects both at the temple and throughout the Monmouth County community. We have an active Men’s Club and Sisterhood, as well as junior and senior youth groups. For families with pre-school age children, our Bagels and Blocks program is open to the public and meets monthly on Sunday mornings. It is a great way for new families to become a part of MRT.

Positive and “real world relevant” religious education is offered through our kindergarten-10th grade school that includes Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation preparation with our Cantor and Rabbi. In addition, our 8th and 9th graders participate in Mitzvah Academy. Enriching adult education classes, visiting scholars, and other programs, as well as Torah study, are offered throughout the year.
