MRT’s Buddy Program Engages Our New Members!

Monmouth Reform Temple is a warm and welcoming congregation and one of the most important ways we welcome new members is through our Buddy Program. The Buddy Program helps make a new member’s transition a smooth one. When a new member joins our synagogue, they are assigned a Buddy. Buddies welcome our newest members and help them find their way into our temple family, answering questions and guiding them to programs and activities. The Membership Committee pairs up new members with someone in the congregation of similar situations, such as families with small children or singles looking to connect with other Jews. Research has shown that congregants who make a connection within their first two years of membership ultimately become long-term, fully engaged members. The Buddy can be the one to help forge these connections and make a lasting impression.
